The New Playground is Almost Here

Many of you have noticed the old playground has been removed. The removal was part of the Makeover Community Service Project donated by Music Choice in August. The swing sets were removed as well.

A new playground & swing set is soon on its way. The parts from the new playground are due to arrive mid-October and it will be constructed October 29th & 30th (weather permitting).

The playground and swings are from GameTime, which produces many of the community playgrounds in the area, including Milltown’s parks. We have purchased a model called Field of Fun (illustrated above). The age rating for the unit is 2 to 5 years-old, but the structure is very accommodating for both young and old children alike. This model falls right in the middle of the age specification (2 to 5 or 5 to 12) with features appropriate for both age groups. There are varying deck heights for climbing, stairs, etc. that will challenge all ages. The playground will occupy the space left by the old playground.

Our swing set structure will include 3-bays with 6-swings and occupy the space where the old swing set once sat between the school and convent. It will be a vast improvement over the aging (and dangerous!) old swing set. Look for both to be buzzing with kids by the end of October.
